Pistons Required .080 Over

Post by Greaves, Tammy » Sun Mar 05, 2000 6:56 pm

Pistons Required .080 Over
I have sent a few E-Mails about and made a few calls attempting to locate anyone..or any company ..that has any .080 over pistons for sale. Can anyone please help me out. My motor is apart at a machine shop and the pistons ..or lack thereof..is holding the project up. Abingdon Spares has them on back order as does Naylor Brothers. Moss apparently does not stock them any longer. I am thinking I may have to go with Nissan pistons if none of you are able to help!
Thanks in advance.

P.S. - I stuck that last sentence in as I figure that will ensure I get at least a few responses! Again please ignore the caveat at the end..I cannot get rid of it.

JP Pistons in Australia made my TC pistons. They do have a web site, and a web search should reveal the URL.

Unless you are desparate for a few more cc, why not just simply sleeve the
block?

Clive Sherriff

P.S. You mean there IS a Nissan piston that fits??? Wow!!!! Goodie!!!!

Rob,

Try Egge Obsolete Engine Parts in California. Their number is
1-800-866-3443. I deal with Jim. They will either have the pistons on the
shelf or they can make them. So far, I have had great luck with their parts!
Note, you will have to ask for rings separately.

Another option, of course, would be to sleeve your block and fit a less
oversize piston. . .or even standard size pistons.

Good Luck,
Bruce Woodson

Rob:

I have .080 piston sets with pins and Deves rings for $195.23 per set,
including shipping.

Re: [mg-tabc] Pistons Required .080 Over Hi Rob

When I had the same problem ( no .080 pistons to be found) about 10 yrs ago with my TD, I went to .100 over. These were off the shelf and the extra bore brings you up to 1366cc for a little extra power. Later, you can always sleeve it back to 1250 if you ever had to.
