Parts/Services Needed for TC

Post by Bob McClaren » Sat Dec 18, 1999 9:39 am

Hi to all,

I am looking for a complete original fuel tank cap in decent, restorable
condition for TC #3443. She currently has a locking-type after market cap
and a slow leak around the fuel warning sending unit. I am interested in
finding a cap before I remove the tank to take care of the gasoline leak
problem. Anyone have an extra that they are interested in parting with at a
reasonable price? Has anyone used the fuel tank caps being offered by Moss
or Abingdon?

I am also trying to find a firm or individual that can repair a TC radiator
shell that is split/torn in several areas and has obvious signs of bodged
repair attempts by some previous owner. Who in the US or Canada does this
kind of work? What experience has anyone had with getting shells repaired?
Should I try to find a TD style replacement shell? Any help from the list
would be appreciated.

Happy holidays to all,

Bob McClaren

Hi Bob, I am in the process of getting a TF shell redone. It was in a crash
and has a couple of tears and major dents. The chrome shop said that they
could repair it and replate it, it is still at the shop and I think the
quote was $350 or $400 Cdn. I have had several TD and TF shells done by
them and some were originally so bad I considered them not worth repairing
but went ahead with it anyway. When I recieved the repaired/rechromed
shells, they were perfect! The chrome shop is:
Victoria Plating Ltd. 892 Devonshire Rd., Victoria, B.C.,
