Alive and Well!

Post by Gene Gillam » Mon Sep 05, 2005 12:36 pm

Everyone,

If you haven't heard by now, and I'm very sure a lot of you haven't, Ann
and I are alive and well in South Mississippi. We're about 20 miles off
the coast so only suffered from the wind and rain. Luckily we suffered
VERY little damage - mostly downed trees and a couple of shingles.

Right now we have telephone service - (228) 831 5623 (Home) and (228)
313 9045 (Cell) and as you can see, at least dial-up internet. The only
problems here are heat, no electricity (using a generator right now) and
locating gasoline to keep the generator running long enough to keep food
cold in the refrigerator and frozen in the freezer. Finding gas is much
easier said than done right now.

Please stay in touch via phone and email but also please limit sending
me ANY large files. I can't stay on-line much so need to download as
much as I can at one time.

Keep us in your thoughts but please PRAY for those south of us. God
only knows how much they're suffering.

Oh, and for the T-ABC group and MGVR group, both TCs are fine (a bit
dirty from water blowing into their garage) but not damaged in any way.

God Bless everyone,

Ann and Gene Gillam

Dear Gene,
I followed the drama - good to hear that you are well.
However, in my part of the world (Denmark)we find this catastrophe full of failure, disregard, scandal and carelessness against the poorer (read: black) part of the population, which is a shame for your great country.
You can fly to the moon, invade Iraq etc. but cannot really take care of your own back yard, except sending in the troops! The most powerfull nation of the world?
You must be able to do better - and we will help you as well, if you accept - because you are our freinds!
All the best from
Jorgen

This sort of "criticism" and finger pointing is NOT repeat NOT needed nor
acceptable on this forum. If you are really concerned about the people
help, as have so many of our fellow country men and women, by giving money
to any of the numerous groups that are down in the trenches work one-on-one
with those in need. To make a political and racists issue out of a
catastrophe is totally wrong.

Post by Paroor » Tue Sep 06, 2005 12:41 pm

Hi Kelvin,
Hi Rick,
Imagine there is a war ! And imagine none of us go there. What
will happen ??

We human are emotional. Some more some less. The MG TC is not worth it's
metal value with out our emotion.

Gentlemen why not ignore such comets!!! Why you feel hurt ? If you do not
want to be hurt do not hurt others. The people of other nationality is also
patriots.

If Forum is a real MG t-abc one then we had to keep all the information
about flood and other things away from this. But no body is against it using
our forum for such good purpose.

Imagine there is nothing like half pregnancy. Ether this is a pure T-abc
technical forum or it is not.

Sorry !!! May be I also think different. Would have kept quite. But my
emotion !!!

Madhu

Hello Group;

Been driving the TC as much as I can these days. Went to the Airport
yesterday, windshield down, cap reversed, goggles in place. God, I love this
car.

Regarding the following comment. I find it very sad that people in other
countries are so mis-led by the "news media" that someone believes what is
found below. Most americans are not as portrayed. The disgrace, and there is
always some no matter where in the world you are, is that we seem to lack
organization. The troops were sent to protect the law abiding citizens from
the outlaws. Jorgen, I am really sorry that you believe the way that you do.
I would be happy to correspond directly with you regarding this catastrophe
and hopefully you will change your mind about Americans. Email me directly
if you would please, as this is not the place for yours or my opinion.

You may reach me most easily at: flynlow@usaviator.net

With kindest personal regards, I shall remian,

Sincerely,

Bud Silvers

Dear Jorgen and others who have expressed negative opinions on how our great
natural tragedy in the Gulf Coast was handled. This is a forum for sharing
information on our beloved MG-T cars. Keep your God-damned political
opinions to yourselves! They don't belong in this forum! There was
obviously some poor planning and delayed reaction by our elected officials,
but we as a democratic society will deal with it, either now by pressure on
officials, donations to charitable organizations providing help, or in the
next elections. We need help, not snide criticisms. I would like to remind
Jorgen that we Americans sacrificed a great deal to help free his country
from the Nazis and to recover from that very sad man-made tragedy. Alaska
has had natural disasters in the past, floods, extremely large earthquakes
and tsunamis, volcanic eruptions. I would hope that when we experience the
next one we won't be criticized for our failures to respond in the best
manner.

Obviously Jorgen has no concept of the world, governments or the purpose of
military. Military protect, from both enemies and natural catasphrophe. You
might have noticed on the news that for 3 days their was chaos, confusion
while the authorities got organized. The military arrived in 3 days, with a
plan, command structure and organization. They train for this. Within 2 more
days the evacuations were under way, shelters set up, medical care provided,
transport out of the area and to out of area hospitals provided. I served 2
years in the 82nd Airborne, 4 years in Special Forces, and 14 years in the
reserves. I never fired a shot in anger. All we did was provide assistance,
relief and service. Yes, we were trained and ready to be sent to hostile
action. In my case I spent most of my time at Ft Bragg, NC.
Jorgen must be watching CNN, the most biased news, run by Ted Turner (
remember he married Hanoi Jane)Fonda). Liberals only see the US as bad.
Jorgen has been brainwashed by the liberal media.

Hello to all our forum subscribers,
I agree with Gene. Now is the time for all nations to close ranks with our
American friends and give all the aid and assistance necessary to help in
this the most catastrophic disaster to hit North America in recorded
history. Being a Canadian I am proud to say that we have rescue teams in
the afffected states and we have 4 ships carrying personnel, medicine, food
and other essential items on their way from Halifax to assist in getting
these people back on their feet The images we are seeing on the different
news channels I think fail to let us fully understand the enormity of the
situation. When a friend is knocked down to his knees we don't start asking
how it happened and why it happened or who is responsible. We offer them a
hand up, and you know why, because they would be the first to do the same
for us, as they always have, and always will. So symbolically , America,
here is my hand, small that it is, but if you look past my shoulder there
are thousands, nay millions offering the same.

Thanks Brian;
Absolutely wonderful words from the heart!.
I believe my wife Lin who was acitvated 3 months ago for Navy duty will be
heading to the Hospital ship, according to the latest info.
This is the most cataclysmic event in American
history. Stop the Politcal Muck and concentrate on a resolution to helping
humanity as quickly as possible.
Tally Ho!
