Fuel filler cap

Post by gmbubb » Thu Aug 18, 2005 7:21 am

A bit late, I know, but for those that were interested, TC0847 has a 30 degree cap with the word PRESS on the release tab. Everything else on the car tallies with Sherrel's (SP?, sorry) descriptions of early parts, e.g. seat back, so I assume the tank is also correct for the build date of July '46. Gordon

Interesting that an April '46 car had a straight neck (mine) and a July car had a 30 degree neck. What's going on? _Peter

TC1439 (Sept 46) has a straight neck. Looks to me that they used whatever came to the floor first.----- Original Message ----- From: Peter Robertsmgtc@comcast.net> To: mg-tabc@yahoogroups.commg-tabc@yahoogroups.com> ; gmbubbgordonbubb@hotmail.com> Sent: Thursday, August 18, 2005 10:06 AM Subject: Re: [mg-tabc] Fuel filler cap Interesting that an April '46 car had a straight neck (mine) and a July car had a 30 degree neck. They did that on purpose with the fiendish foreknowledge that it would drive the Originality Police nuts. _Peter
