Mileage problem solved
A Canadian Greeting to all listers:
As you know, I made changes to TC 7881 that I thought would imrprove the gas mileage. And, as you may recall, I think I posted that the mileage actually got worse, and I wondered why.
I guess my age is showing...one of the changes was a change to the 4.625 to one Crown and Pinion set, a roughly 10 percent change. (The other change was to the mild-grind Crane Cam).
The mileage, after these changes, dropped by about 10 to 15 percent. But, if you compensate for the inacurrate odometer reading, the mileage didn't really change much at all! The car is actually going about 10% farther than indicated, and when this is factored in, the gasoline mileage has not changed to any significant extent.
Better remember to take my meds in the future
