Esteemed group members- The vigorous discussion of T-fans provoked me to check out TC 0735, now in the middle of the rear axle/brake restoration. I should make this procedure a habit, I think, as I found that 0735's fan blades were arranged so that one blade had the reinforcement gussets to the rear, and the other blade had them facing forward. Zounds. The key to the proper arrangement was the position of the curved profile, which was facing to the rear on one of the blades, and forward on the other blade. My experience agrees with the consensus of the group: the concave section of the blade should be to the rear. Thus, on TC 0735, the reinforcing gussets now both face to the front. Also noted after rearranging the blades was the fact that the blades were not perpendicular to each other. Although I thought this peculiar, I don't expect this to affect the performance of the fan as much as the original backward fan blade. Since the PO has instituted some individualities along the way, (including, in this case, chrome plated fan blades and allen-head screws for mounting them) I also wondered if the blades were different, but Moss lists them as a set, and the picture shows the gussets to the front. The additional good news is that the water pump turns freely and does not leak, and the generator bolts were loosened without the invocations and exhortations needed in the case of rusted/frozen bolts. The blades are deliberately set at an angle other than 90deg to avoid setting up a harmonic.
