Wheel bearing seals

I have play in one of my front hubs. On this same wheel there is fluid in the brake drums but the brakes don't seem to be leaking. Looking at a diagram of the front hub assembly it appears there is only an oil seal at the back of the hub, and a cupped washer at the front (spinner side). Does this washer make the seal or is there another seal I'm missing? Would less than 1/16" play in the hub create the leak? - Steve S - TC8975, LA, CA
