TIC wing repairs

Post by DAVID RICHMOND » Sat May 28, 2005 7:21 am

I recommend any UK leisters who fancy "having a go " to try their local technical college to see if any evening classes in welding are available . Several years ago I enrolled at Blackpool Technical college for such a course where instruction was given in gas, mug and tag welding . Course members were encouraged to take along parts from their car to be repaired under the the supervision of the tutor. I took one of the rear wings (fenders) from my TIC in pretty bad shape with most of the beaded edge corroded away . but after five or six 2 hour sessions came out with a nicely restored article and all the skills and knowledge to give me enough confidence to tackle the other 3. Incidentally the same college ran a course in car body repairs and spray painting on the same evening . Dave Richmond TIC 361 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
