Dear All, This Autumn our beloved TC will be sixty years old. (0448 February 1946 ) How are we going to start the celebration? With a bottle of Champaign ? or with a prayer ? Is there any plans ? gatherings ? or any thing else ? Madhu

Madhu, I don't know about your TC but mine was built in September 1946. That will make it 60 in September of next year(2006). By the way, if I get Ferrari tickets for the Frankfurt show this year would you like to use them or is the show somewhere else this year? Hi Madhu, My TC (1331) will be 60 autumn 2006 but imagine you are in a different pat of te world.It would be nice for a large get together if only for a memorial to Abingdon and the loss of MG, not the recent Longbridge factories. Dear Madhu, A more significant date is 17th September this year, which marks the 60th Anniversary of the first batch of TCs produced at Abingdon. TC0252 was the first of fifteen TCs produced at Abingdon on 17th September, 1945 (TC0251 being an experimental car). I am currently organising a gathering of MG Car Club T Register members with their cars on 17th September this year. The present plan is to meet in Abingdon at 11.00am and then go for a Run, which would incorporate some of the Test Routes used by the Factory, and then return for a lunch. We hope to get the local TV and Radio interested. I am also currently engaged on getting a commemorative item produced, which would be available worldwide. More details to follow when I have firmed up arrangements. I would like to hear from any UK TABC list members who would like to participate. The event would not be confined to TCs - all Types would be welcome.
