I'm having a head ported for a performance road engine. My machinist
has suggested that while he's in there, he install larger push rod tubes
in case I want to go with larger rods, especially for a supercharged
setup. The engine has a roller cam, which uses much stronger springs
than stock.
Has anyone found the stock size push rods to be inadequate in a
performance engine with these heavy springs, or any downside to having
the larger tubes installed even if the push rod size is not increased?
Is there anything to be gained by using larger push rods? Seems to me
the stock size is ok.
