Bonnet Deformed

    Hi All,
    When I came to fit the bonnet of TC7142 I discovered that both top panels had deformed leaving a gap along the top at both front edge and rear edge. See attached photos. When the top is pressed flat, the wrap-around down the side fits OK.
    The gap at the rear is about 1cm at the worst point and at the front (over the radiator shell) about half that at the rear.
    When I got the car I recall that the bonnet was only laying on the car, not actually attached. It may have been off of the car for a long time (30 years) and may have bowed under it's own weight. However it was caused, I need to return it to the original profile. I am told that I can put it on a bench with a roller underneath and roll it backwards and forwards under a load at the sides. Clearly this will damage the paintwork but that can be easily fixed.
    Any advice/guidance?

    Hi Nick,  Perhaps this may be a little 'crude', but I would just do some reverse bends using common sense and some care, and tweak it back by hand.  My TC had some of the same issues, took about 2 minutes, no paint damage, and the fit was fixed. What you described would likely work, but sounds a lot more hammer than is needed....just an opinion....     I agree with Lee. I had the same issue when doing a restoration on a TF.
