TA TB seat back brackets
Attachments :Greetings to all, For the TA and TB owners: I am trying to find out the evolution of the seat back bracket. My TA1020 (early TA body) has the brackets on the inner side of the wheel arch. At some point they changed location to the top of the wheel arch as on the TC. See photos below of the new replacements that I have in stock and the original brackets on the body of TC1020. ALSO NOTE: the bracket arm that attaches to the seat back is very long compared to what we are familiar with for the TC. Was the seat back bracket different for this early location or is this a one off handmade item. Looks like it was a factory item as the scallops for the wing bolt are machined symmetrically. See photos below of all. I will welcome all observations of what you have found on your own cars to help validate transition. And also, how was the vinyl trim finished. Looks like just cut around the round base with no finished edge. Re: TA TB seat back brackets
Attachments : Doug, I believe that the seat back location changed with the change in the rear wing type and B29/B270 body change in mid TA production. The TBs all have them on the top of the arch. The items are not in the TA/TB parts list because they were supplied ready fitted to the bodies, not as separate items for production line fitting. Clive = ==================================

Re: TA TB seat back brackets
Hi Doug,
TA 1660. (I wouldn't necessarily set great store by it as lots of things on this car seem to be non-standard.)

Doug, I never found your pics., but both of my TA s, Early, narrow-fenderedAnd later wide-fendered versions have theirs on the side of the wheel well; always thought it didn t change til TC, with the newer design brackets, but I m guessing! Jan Sent from Mail for Windows 10

Re: TA TB seat back brackets
Attachments :Hi DougSee the attached for the location on TB0457, this is where it is on all the TBs I have seen, when I replaced the wheelarch trim a year or so ago there were no other holes where the bracket could have been. The TA TB parts manual shows different parts for some seat set items for the 2 different body styles but only show one L/H & one R/H adjuster and adjuster bracket.RegardsMike TB0457
