hotter spark plug for TC

Post by rmeismer1@aol.com » Thu Jun 27, 2002 7:07 pm

I am now using L86C Champion plugs but I need a hotter ones, as they get shooty black after a short time. Has anyone plug numbers for 1 or 2 heat ranges hotter ? If you guys are trying to go with the brown ceramic to set plug temp, and you are using modern "gas" you are barking up the wrong tree. This junk does not give the same markers as the good old lead based stuff. Even with a perfect mixture, you frequently get black. Better to buy a ColorTune, and set things up correctly. It is a lot cheaper than holed pistons. And BTW, if you have tiny blacks dots on the ceramic...that is your piston. Best, mcg
