Badger, I hope you did not count them all on your fingers (do badgers have fingers?) and toes! It is true that if only 10.000 TCs were built starting at #0251 then the last would have been #10,250, BUT TC0251 was the "experimental car" as has already been pointed out by Peter Debruyn (and the factory records give no date). The first "production car" was TC0252 on 17th. Sept. 45, and the last was TC10251 on 29th. Nov. 49: this car has recently surfaced in N. Ireland Whoever was writing out the factory records got a bit confused and went from #10249 to 10251 & 10252, missing out 10250, but the last two were later corrected. So, exactly 10,000 production cars, and 1 experimental, or pre-production car made up from left-overs. It is possible that the factory retained it, and even just within the realms of possibility that it was used for the factory's parts delivery van. Yes, you read that correctly, a TC van was constructed (maybe even two or more) but I have never seen a photograph of it. ocTagonally TCRoger [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]>From: "BADGER" mrbadger@cox.net> >If the first TC were #0251 and exactly 10,000 were built, the last would be >#10,250 - not 10,251.
