Back in mid-April I sent a note out asking about ideas on fixing the rough running problem I was experiencing when the TC got hot (warm). Sure appreciate all of the replies and ideas I received. Well, I thought you might be interested in what I found. After replacing the coil, condenser, plugs, fuel pump, setting up the carbs twice, checking float levels, gas lines , checks for vapor lock, resetting the valves, checking coil/breaker wiring, checking the distributor ground, using a Colortune, and a multitude of other things, the car continued to get worse. The other night after installing new carb to manifold gaskets I took the car for a spin. It ran great. Got home shut it off and then restarted it. It started running really rough and then stalled and wouldn't restart. Check coil wiring on the low voltage side - everything checked OK. Checked the coil wire to distributor, great spark. Checked the plug wires - no spark! It turned out to be a bad distributor cap. For whatever reason it would break down when it got hot. Anyway, I guess I'll keep the TC and return the fishing rods!
Special thanks to Dean Jensen for hanging in there with me and putting up with a multitude of e-mails.
