One built-in problem in our TC's has been the rather primitive method of actuating the stop light switch.. This is understandable because the cars as built for England apparently had no legal requirement for a device of this nature. The result was that on the cars for the American market a haywire (literally), make-do method was employed to attach the stop light switch to the brake pedal since it was not built in. A sure fire answer to this problem has been . . . . ________________________________________________________________________ Walter Prechsl Kappel cker 10 74182 Obersulm, Germany walter@publi-consult.com>From the TC Motoring Guild via #703 Earl Sargent

stop light switch
hi friends,
the modifucation for the hydraulic stop light switch is a typical
1950/60-years modification.
every car made later had an mechanic switch again -- look into your modern
cars!
so the TABC-mechanical switch was not that bad, ok the modern version has no
drag lever
and is open to the dust and water from the street. modern ones are closed
and tight press buttons
direkt activated at the pedal.
when my drag switch ever fails i will replace it with the same type
