Can anyone say what the thickness of the rubber that goes between the gas tank and the body. Mine looks to be between 1/2" and 3/8" and my straps were a little short.

Re: More gas tank
Rolland Mine measures at least , maybe a little more, also the spare tire looks like it sets at about 75 degrees on my car. This is all taken in place , on the car, so it is hard to get a real accurate figure. The rubber on mine is not the original, and as I remember it the original was a little thinner, and I know it was softer, because of age? I am not sure. Also, on my car, someone had not been able to undo the nuts at the bottom, and they had cut the threads (straps) off with a hack saw. I straightened the thread and made up an extension, never notice it where it is located. Did you get my email from a week ago asking about paint? Cheers Dean -----Original Message-----
