We have been advised by a long time friend who is an oil engineer and racing specialist that Redline is designed for racing. >>

Alan: Before you "scuttle" the use of Redline oil, I suggest you contact Redline on their web page. They are very good about answering any questions regarding their products. Myself, I think you got bad info. It would be worth checking out. Cheers: Skip Kelsey................................................... At 10:31 PM 3/3/02 -0500, Monoxidemanor@aol.com wrote:

I have been using a non-detergent 40 SAE oil for the past twenty-five years in my TC. The engine has at least 40,000 miles and is still tight with excellent compression and oil pressure. An interesting thought...modern oils contain a great many additives of various forms. Our engines (assuming original types) burn an excessive amount of oil, and what they don't burn they leak. What happens to all of the additives? Do they burn along with the oil, or do they stay and buildup in the engine? WWC TC 6749
