For what its worth, I have an early TA with the original engine which is a fairly bright red and seems to be original as there are no other colors to be found. My VA, also with original engine, has the same engine color as the TA with no sign of another color. It is low enough mileage as to conceivably not have been out for an overhaul. I have seen the same color in some of the reference books as well for these cars. Proof? What is that, something you drink. Dick Duncan

Hi all, TA 2734 Tickford had a seized engine early in it's life and the car has never been restored. It is all original, wormholes abound in the wood, and it is in deplorable condition, but perfect for reference. The engine has never been out of the car and it is a bright red color, very close to an MGA. On TA2969 Tickford, with a replacement engine, I am painting it a dark charcoal grey because it looks good. Cheers, Lee Jacobsen, Dearborn, MI
