Tony-from all the expert advice you have read, I would expect that 2BA nuts will do the job. I would and add that typically they are brass. If you let me know your address, I'd be happy to send the six or what ever you need in brass or stainless which is what I like to use. Not inexpensive, stainless, but polishes up great to avoid the plating. I do not see in his catalogue BSF wood or self tappers.
