TABC yahoo web page
Over the last few months several members have asked me how to get
into the Yahoo Groups TABC site and view the archived messages, files
and photos. Most just gave up because Yahoo just didn't make it easy
to do, but Bill Tantau and I recently had success in getting him in
and I wanted to pass on the procedure.
Go to: http://groups.yahoo.com/
If your are already registerd with Yahoo, sign-in and put in your
Yahoo ID and your password.
If you ARE NOT already registered, look near the upper left side of
the web page where it says "SIGN IN" and click on "New users" and
then register. Enter the email address that you use with the TABC
list as Alternate Email 1. DO NOT register for a Yahoo email
address unless you really want one.
Once at the Yahoogroups main page, go to upper right corner and click
on "Account info" Once into that, make sure they have your email
address (one used with TABC list) listed as "Alternate Email 1". If
not then put it in by clicking on the edit button. Hit "Finished"
when done.
You should again be back at the main Yahoogroups page now.
In the upper left side of the web page you should see:
Getting Started
eGroups members
Link your accounts to a Yahoo! ID here
Enter your email address where it says "Don't have a Password?"
(I know you used a password to get into Yahoo but just go along with this step)
Send it off and they will send you a verification code to your email
address after a couple minutes. Plug that code in where asked and
you should be set.
You then can go to the "My Groups" link and get into the TABC
archived message, view files, photos and other things.
Good luck,

Dave:
I have long ago given up on the tabc yahoo situation. That is the most
screwed up bunch of nonsense that I have ever encountered. I have better
things to occupy my time than going around in Yahoo circles. The outfit is
aptly named. No matter what I have tried, it doesnt know who I am. As such
, I have just given up. Things should not be that difficult and impersonal.
Are you going to the Parts exchange on Sunday in Pasadena?
Cheers;

Hey Skip,
Ignoring Yahoo is quite OK. Just be glad though that they didn't get
hired to write any MG manuals. What a mess that would have been.
Yes I will be at the Parts Exchange (money in hand). How 'bout you?
Bringing anything interesting to swap?
For those who do not know about the Parts Exchange it is put on by
the Vintage MG Club of Southern California. Their 28th Annual Parts
Exchange this year is Nov. 18th, 7am - 3pm and held at:
US Manufacturing Co. parking lot
180 N. San Gabriel Boulevard
Pasadena, California.

Dave:
Verna and I will be there with bells on. ( and money in hand). TATERRY will
also be there. I am not selling anything. I do that all week. I would
rather enjoy looking for that rare and unobtainable part that everyone
wants. I always seem to find something. Plus, I do like all of the Vintage
club people. Verna and I recently attended their 30th club aniversery in
Palm Springs. Nice folks, with a common goal!
Cheers:

Re: TABC yahoo web page
Been there, done all that, but made the BIG mistake of asking for a Yahoo
email address!
Nothing happened until things were activated by Walter, then I found all the
T-ABC MSGs came in alright, but I could not email the list! But the worst of
it was that MGSs can only be accessed one at a time, online, which is
expensive for some of us (in the UK most ISPs are free, but we pay per
minute for the phonecall), unless of course I was doing something
wrong...hopefully Walter can get the archive onto the website in a
searchable form where we can download many MSGs at a time and view off-line.

Please add me to the list of unimpressed Yahoo members. It is not just the MG
site but B-17 aircraft sites as well. Bob TC 4956

Roger
Its worth considering paying a flat monthly fee for 24/7 access. I pay 10
to my local cable co. but there are a number of others. The only snag is you
tend to spend more time in front of the computer finding obscure motoring
sites, trawling through Ebay etc,
