Tyres (or 'Tires')

G'day Jim. I agree with Murray... Radials-- the only way to fly. Advantages - crossply v radials? Chalk or cheese! Suspension experts are usually horrified when you mention the TC's positive camber... they suggest you lose a few degrees when contemplating radials. I've driven quite a lot of miles on both cross-ply and radials without putting the axle beam under a press, and I feel the 'Oulde Dear's' to be so agricultural that such science is largely wasted on the TC. Another alternative to Murray's excellent Michelins is a Falken 175 x 16 radial which are reasonably priced. However the 175 section is about maximum section you'd want to put onto the common 4" wide 16 inch rim. Have fun... and watch all the other TC's in your rear-view mirror as they try to stay with you in the twisty bits! Regards Jeff TC3306

What is the best way to go for tires - bias ply or radial? What are advantages and disadvantages of each? jDoes the solid beam front axle have any effect? Thanks for the help.
