Hi guys
Does anyone know the most effective way to get rid of all those tiny
scratches that old windscreens seem to accumulate, apart from getting new
glass.

Easteood company sell a glass polishing kit, but it is probably cheaper to
get new glass.

Tony,
Suggest you forget about polishing scratches out of your old glass.
Basically what the guys are telling is correct, its going to be far
cheaper, easier and effective to simply have your local glass shop to
cut you a new piece of 6.38mm Clear Laminated Glass.
Howver be sure that a) You specify Clear "White" Glass and that you
don't get the Clear "Green" Glass that is used alot around the place.
Of course if originality is not the highest priority go for the green
as it should be cheaper. b) Ensure your glass man puts a rough arris
edge all around and "tips" the corners. This will cost a little more
but it will make installation much easier and and will much reduce the
risk of breakage in service......
