Little traffic on the TABC List

Post by CFritz7001@aol.com » Thu May 17, 2001 7:23 am

I can't help but offer this observevation / opinion: Questions, problems, quandaries, even opinions are the life-blood of a list such as ours!!! Without them, there is nothing to be said, shared, or even thought about, and people start to wonder if they somehow have been taken out of the loop, or someone has sabotaged their e-mail. T'aint so, folks, members simply have not been providing "grist for the list's mill"!!! (Please pardon the mix of metaphors) In short, if you want information, YOU MUST ask YOUR questions, pose YOUR problems, expose YOUR quandaries, offer YOUR opinions (or some combination of these). OK: Brakes problem (I must admit the TC is doing fine, this is on my 67 midget-my first car, still have it). Pedal goes to the floor, no pressure. I have rebuilt the master cylinder twice, feel resistance when out of the car and filled with fluid. No leaks, bled brakes several times, still no pedal. Bore of cylinder appears ok, no scratches or wear apparent. Wheel cylinders seem to work OK, brakes work at wheels, but not enough to stop the car, no pedal pressure. Suggestions? On the below topic, let's remember to have fun doing this. An occasional 'attempt at humor' should not offend us. Face to face we could wink to let someone know we are 'pulling their leg', but in e-mail it is hard to convey that sense of humor. This is friends helping each other, and we wander from the primary purpose of the site occasionally also. While the site has a purpose, we need to all be tolerant of the various personalities, cultures and geographic point involved in a global site. For instance, I am not personally interested in finding a source in the UK for gudgeon pins or sliding block exhaust system, but for those who are, fine. We are here to help each other, and to share advice and sources. We are also here to have fun, to share our enjoyment of the cars this site is based on.That is our common interest. What is of no interest to me is a problem to someone else. Soap box concluded. Paul Huck

Think about why you rebuilt the brake system. Any clue? Maybe air is entering the system after bleeding, loose fitting, crack, pin hole, faulty hose. If none of the above, you still got AIR, Bleed slowly into a glass using a tube. Look for air bubbles, foam. Will TC8828EXU
