Hi Larry
Austin Sevens were built from 1922 to1939 in various forms and have a
good survival rate. The earlier open ' chummy' models cost most at
6000 to 7000 for a good one. See them advertised sometimes in UK
old car mags like Motor Sport, Classic Cars, or The Automobile, but
there are several owner clubs who advertise cars an supply cheap
spares.
There are also many books to read before you choose your model.
The Bantams are rare, as are the German Dixie model assembled by BMW
as their first car!
Be warned, they are habit-forming and infectious.
Regards
Richard

Re: Re; Austin Seven
An amusing story concerning the A7 is that when Herbert Austin licensed the
German version, he was so worried about cheap spare parts undercutting his
"official" ones, that he insisted all the screw threads were reversed left &
right. Of course, I don't believe a word of it, but it is true that the
German car industry got where it is today with a little help from old
Blighty, and the Japanese also benefitted (the first Nissan?)
