Wiring Support
Mark,
Just measured the wiring support under the cowl of my TC. FWIW, the
horizontal part is about 16 inches long, and the legs about 3 inches long.
(Sorry, I'm not "metrified", I deal only with non-metric measurements.
You'll have to do your own conversions.) The ends are held in place by the
upper scuttle bolts (the second from the left, and the one which secures the
left side of the steering column bracket).
My micrometer is broken, so I can't give you the exact diameter of the wire
Just for kicks, I also measured a wire coat-hanger, and found it to be 16
inches long ! Although this coat-hanger is a US-made one, and may not be
identical with a UK-made version, it raises an interesting possibility in my
twisted mind. Could it be that "Alfie" collected coat-hangers around
Abingdon, and lovingly converted them into wiring supports??? (Who said I
have no sense of humour??)

Re: Wiring Support
Do not forget to cover this wire support with plastic tubing to avoid
abrading the wires and the oil pressure gauge tubing as the car vibrates
along the road. I learned the hard way after coating my left leg and shoes
with oil from a pinhole leak in the tubing.
