Try the Badger;They have surplus 55 gallon drums of battleship gray at the Newport Naval Base going back to WW II . Badger lives close by the base. It will be GenUine antique 1940's paint for the early versions of the TC. Such( Perfection) is rarely found.If none found there ,then check out Qounset Base, where Joe Curto kept them flying . Bettcha Joe knows where some of those areas are, with the drums still in storage. If push comes to shove I really know where that GenUine Antique WWII 1940,s Gray Paint is stored and should match almost perfectly the concoctions devised by the production personnel at Abingdon MG- TC production facility." Thanks Thom for dragging me into the fray, Quonset is now an Industrial Park, but rest assured when I was there (1970-1973) the Navy would have dumped it all into the Bay, as that is where the waste from of all things the paint stripping shop went. Joe

This discussion about WWII surplus paint brings back memories when my Dad gave me some GenUine WWII grey paint so I could paint my 1951 Henry-J. "Just flow it on", he said, as I took brush in hand. It looked pretty good from about 20 feet away! Larry Long
