I need to buy new door hinges for my TC. Mine are really loose and worn out. Both Moss and Abingdon Spares sell them. Any thoughts as to who would have the better quality? Or would they likely be about the same? Thanks, Randy Kegg TC9690 ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Randy: I stock the Moss hinge set. It is mfg. in Australia. This usually means good quality. Skip Kelsey.......................... At 04:40 PM 4/1/01, rkegg@juno.com wrote:

Randy, How badly are your hinges worn? If its only the bolts and the brass balls - don't let Badger start anything, you can replace those. The original hinges were forgings so they can be welded. Thats what I did to my originals. A previous owner had slotted out the screw holes. I bought a set from both MOSS and Abingdon and was disappointed with both of them. Thats why I decided to try and see what I could do with the original ones. This was about 8 years ago, so things may have improved. Abingdon's were the closest. They would have worked if I didn'nt have anything else. The MOSS hinges were a joke. They were nothing more than heavy sheet metal bent around in the aproximate shape of a TC door hinge. Take a look at your typical house door hinge and you get the idea. As I said, that was 8 or so years ago. You can call and ask the guy to look for you and see what the hinges are like. Thats one thing I can say about MOSS - sometimes their parts are of dubious quality, but I've never had any probems with their service. Regards, Charles Hill
