Hi Troops - I'm getting ready to assemble the wooden body tub for TC 0535.
I've read what's available re: adhesives. There seem to be 2 schools of
thought: 1) "hard adhesives", casein glues, etc. 2) dum-dum, caulking
adhesive - in general non-hardening products. Anyone have experience I can
profit from? I'm sure this thread has been addressed (I guess my new guy
status is showing!).
One more thought - I need one more rebuildable 19" wheel - any one have a
spare?
Thanks,
Tom Rutledge

Re: wood structure adhesive
Try some urethane adhesive.. comes package as Gorilla Glue (expensive, but hardware store available) or as PV Urethane Adhesive (Home Depot, Etc.). Of a zillion glues I've used, this stuff is incredible for wood. Takes 24 hours to cure, foams into every crevice (no catalyst, incidentally... looks like honey coming out of the bottle), and is waterproof. The wood will break anyplace but the joint, and it's the only thing I've ever found that will glue wood to melamine, Formica, metal, etc., other than contact cement which has other problems, most of which relate to joint filling. Re: [mg-tabc] wood structure adhesive Hi Tom,
I'm sure that Craig Seabrook from The Whitworth Shop will speak on the subject also, but when I spoke with him this fall about assembling the TC wood kit he's sending, he specifically mentioned that glue is NOT recommended. Badger is correct, the tub must flex. I suppose this is the same reason that sheetmetal on the tub is not joined together (except around the scuttle area).

Re: wood structure adhesive
The TC body tubs were screwed together. You do not want to glue the wood as
the body tub is made to flex. I have several 19" tc wheels. If you are
interested please call me at work. My # is 818 9967388. Mike Goodman
