These tyres were fitted to my TC when I bought it.In my opinion they look too big.The sidewalls had cracked badly but they were probably eight years old.Felt OK to drive although steering heavier than Dunlops.Hope this helps. Brian Bax t c 355> -----Original Message-----

Coker Tires

Coker Tire (www.coker.com) has what they call an "Economy Blackwall" for $58 (475/500-19). Does anyone have any experience with this tire? Thanks, Gene Gillam Saucier, MS 1949 TC 7872

Gene, If I was going to purchase Coker tires I would suggest going to: Wallace W. Wade Specialty Tires in Dallas TX. Phone # 1-800-666-TYRE. Web site - www.wallacewade.com. They handle Coker tires among other brands. They are great to work with and have the best prices. They even have the off-set stem tubes for a reasonable price. Check with them, they might be able to answer your question(s). Mark Stolzenburg

I did an order of 42 tires from Coker for members of the Abingdon RoughRiders a while ago. These were Commanders, exact duplicates of sidewall & tread on Dunlops. They are made in India now, used to be Korea. These tires were in the neighborhood of $70 each. I would check them out rather than their economy model

Coker doesn't carry the Commanders anymore (in this size, anyway). I did find out from Coker that this "Economy Blackwall" is made by Gabriel. I checked with www.wallacewade.com - they also carry them but at a price of $65 each. Heck, I'm only driving the car, not racing it, so these should be fine. I seem to recall a thread a while back about putting tires on rims and the lubricant/lubricants used. Does anyone recall what the general consensus turned out to be?
