TA on eBay

Post by CFritz7001@aol.com » Thu Jan 25, 2001 3:45 pm

Just came across a TA for sale on eBay auction site, and thought I'd pass it along to the TABC list. You can look at it via: \\ http://cgi6.ebay.aol.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=5487523 29 No, it's not mine, I'm just passing it on forpeoplelike myself who rarely check eBay Regards, Carl Fritz

TA on ebay

EBay # 4573293106 is a TA of unknown year. Just thought I would let members know if they hadn't seen it. Dick Little [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

TA on Ebay

Post by joegyoung11 » Sun Mar 06, 2016 6:32 am

Does anyone know about this TA being listed on Ebay (item=222025819933) for at least the second time out of Beverly Hills Car Club.  It lists the number as 06168 and is tan interior, green body.  Left side rear wing is crumpled.  Interior is fairly good looking and the top in OK but does not have side curtains listed or shown.  I have some interest in a TA as then I would only lack an TB to have all T types on the road as drivers.  The price seems a little high compared to other TA that I have seen that were in better shape.  Very oddly the exhaust pipe has been lead out the right side in front of the rear wheel in stead of the back of the car, why? Hello Joe,   I think you could find a better example for that money, with patience.  Although mostly there it is quite tatty and would need much detail fixing to get reasonably right.   Some quick comments: Hartford not Luvax shock absorbers on front, difficult to see rears, probably the same. No silencer, hence exhaust coming out side Oil gauge is more modern twin oil/temp gauge Petrol pump is wrong and copper piping around reserve tap has been cut about. No sign of slow running cable No idea of how engine & gearbox are Nice to see brass bodies on carbs though, good feature for early TAs.   And the VIN/car number is not correct.  It should be TA2xxx, look at outside of front nearside dumb iron for (usually indistinct) stamping.  The plate on the toolbox should be the same, but these are easily switched.   Could be the basis of a good restoration, or even a runner if the rear wing was repaired and the drive train is OK.  But too costly at present.   Hope this helps, & regards to all, Ian Linton TA3120 Lewes, East Sussex, UK   From: mg-tabc-noreply@yahoogroups.com Sent: Sunday, March 06, 2016 2:32 PM To: mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com Subject: [mg-tabc] TA on Ebay
