I used to say, "for my next act, I will set my hair on fire" when things were a little droll.Well I have set a helo on fire, two different pickups on fire and now, there is THIS that I have never ever heard of happening...as an act or otherwise. Well for my next act, I will NOT set my heated grips on fire. Why?Well I did that ~10 days ago, and it was more than I could handle. cough. One could say, 'get a grip' but they sell them in pairs. sigh.I kid you not, I look down at the grip which became hotter than it should had on the two previous cycles, and this cycle, it got instantaneously hot.I pulled my hand away and that sucker is smoking! as is my glove.Fortunately, it only burnt a small hole in my glove, but not so big that the cheap KLR rider would not keep riding with them. and no, it was not on a Harley, but on a KLR that has been my friend since Oct 2003.m1.

Good thing it wasn't a heated seat. Do they even make those? Perhaps that is why not. Heh heh Robert P. Wichert P.Eng. LEED AP CEPE CEA HERS I/II BPI BA +1 916 966 9060 FAX +1 916 966 9068 On 5/5/2017 11:31 PM, Martin Earl mjearl4@... [DSN_KLR650] wrote:

Not sure about heated motorcycle seats; some cars have them...I do know that there are heated socks and heated chaps that are highly spoken of and considered 4.0 by those that ride in cold wx.m.

Hi Gerald,What is your substantiation that the DSN has turned into junk info?I see that it is 'quiet' but junk? huh? Your contribution or questions are welcome at any time; perhaps the readers here are not experiencing any problems or worse, they are no longer riding. shrug. The DSN has never been exclusively 'KLR problems' but in my experience/memory, is an expression of our experiences while riding the KLR. Any comments that were not related to our (KLR) experiences should have in the header/opening sentence, NKLR (not KLR) so those with time/anger management issues can quietly pass it by. If my 'story' about having a 'fire' in the grip seems inappropriate (as your comments follow mine) , then I will ask for your forgiveness and quietly complete the new heated grip installation without comment on how it is possible you can purchase just one grip heater vs/ a set, or comment on the installation/upgrade dual control HEATROLLER. http://www.warmnsafe.com/heat-trollers/ revmaaatin.

I don't get the junk comment as well.  I love this forum as it has helped me solve so many issues.   David Zmobile: 646.267.1109poisonpartyband.com

Gerald,   Not much info to go on here.  What seems to be your beef?  I am in charge and have been for a long time.  Just because we go through our annual springtime get-out-and-ride season, doesn t mean the list has turned to junk .  If you don t have a specific problem with this list, I think you owe our members an apology.   ps. I don t see any wellsgt from 16 years ago but I do see one from about 13 years.   Fred http://www.arrowheadmotorsports.com   From: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com">GERALD WELLS wellsgt@...
