new important message

Post by John Biccum » Sat Apr 23, 2016 3:44 pm

Fred, that s exactly the right approach: moderate the few folks after the fact that need it (due to virus infestation or more nefarious reasons).

Moderating everyone for every message is too much work for too little reward.

I ll put up with the occasional SPAM here, to avoid Fred having to moderate every user for every message.

This message was removed yesterday and the sender has been placed on moderated status.  This sender has been a member of our list for almost 12 years without any problems.  We all can get a virus and that is what I think has probably happened to this member.  He won t be sending those types of messages or any other type of spam to this list.  The only way to stop all spam is to put everyone here on Moderated Status and I believe that is not what you would want.

Does anyone have a used, working CDI - maybe from a parts bike ? - that they would be willing to sell? It would be going into a 2002 KLR 650.
I've learned a lot about electronics in the last few days. It all began when I discovered a crack in the sub-frame right behind the gas tank when I was checking valve clearances. The crack happened because the sub-frame bolt on the right side had sheered, who knows when.
A friend with really good metal working skills welded it up nicely. Unfortunately, he did not know - as I did not - to disconnect the battery. Apparently we put a current through the CDI that toasted it. The other stuff, coils and such, all check out OK. Naturally it had to be the most expensive component!
I'll be shopping around for the next day or two. Thanks in advance if anyone can help out on this.

You need to Ask Norm Keller about an UP-GRADE, at a fraction of OEM. (Happy with Mine. Here or on "Kawasaki KLR 650 Owners" on Facebook.   On Wednesday, April 27, 2016 3:25 PM, "bryantburke@... [DSN_KLR650]" DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com> wrote:

Bryan

If it is part number 21119-1272 with a two pin connector, a five pin connector, and the separate yellow/black single connector, I'm interested. How much?
