OK, today, here in San Antonio (SA), I visited Traders Village, a flea market that encompass a few acres; I needed an FR (fire resistant) smock for work. I found the FR clothing seller, bought my smock, and was on my way out..................you might be wondering "WTF does this have to do with a $10 Corbin Seat?" Keep Reading..............
As I am leaving, I saw a Corbin Seat in one of the stalls......... humm............, that got my attention........ I looked at the Corbin Seat and it is in near new condition. And, get this, the price was ten (10) - REPEAT TEN - US dollars??? Gulp.... really?, a near new Corbin for a fin?
I was/am not sure if the Corbin will fit my KLR............. but then I realized..........., I shell out a fin ($10) for a cigar without a second thought, so what do I have to lose? I forked over the 1- spot and bought the Corbin Seat.
So, does the Corbin fit? Don't yet know............as soon I hit the "Send" button on my PC, I am going to the garage to see if it fits. As Mickey Spillane wrote, "Keep them in suspense till the end" so I'll let you all know later if I scored a Corbin Seat that fits my KLR for ten (US dollars) in an update to this post.
And, this Corbin was/is, at best, "gently used" with no obvious signs of wear, that is, no tears, frays, etc. It still has the label from "Mike Corbin - Worlds Finest Saddle", and another tag that reads, "JA Assembled by Julio." God bless Julio.
So, are any of you all Guru's experts on Corbin Seats? I will have to get a few inches trimmed off the back of the Corbin. When I installed a Pelican Case on the back of my KLR, I installed it too far forward and it is a pain to get the KLR stock seat off-and-on, it needs to be trimmed about four (4) inches.
If this Corbin does not fit, I guess I'll take it to an upholsterer and see if they can somehow make it fit. And, tomorrow, Monday, I plan to call Corbin to see if they have any suggestions on how to make it fit (unless it smoothly goes right on my KLR.)
Are Corbin's tailored to a specific bikes, or made to order, or are Corbin's one-size-fits-all???? Anyone????
OK, gonna go light my cigar and tinker with the seat.................... more to follow................

my $10 corbin seat story......klr-ish pending....
Update, dateline...... San Antonio.... The $10 Corbin seat did not quite fit perfectly. I am thinking that I can take it to a local upholstery shop and have them modify it. Ultimately it will fit, my guess is that Corbin has a different seat pan for each particular bike???? Tomorrow, I'm going to call Corbin and see if they can install the correct seat pan for the KLR.
If not, I am fairly certain that I can have this one modified for it to fit. So far it looks like I did score Corbin seat that will fit my KLR for 10 bucks. Don't hate.
And,
as I asked earlier, if any of you know the scoop on Corbin Seats, and how to get them to fit a KLR, please do let me know. Are Corbins custom fitted or is it one-size-fits-all?????

Does it fit?Eddie this is an easy one. Just ask OJ Simpson/Johnny Cochran. Turn your OEM seat upside down next to the Corbin, upside down.If the bolt holes align, it fits. shrug.
Other seats 'will work' if you don't care if it is bolted down...many in the past discard the bolt/attachment and use Velcro as a seat attachment.NOTE: if you are going to trailer the bike with a Velcro'ed seat, it might be a good idea to remove the seat.
You might be able to strip the Corbin seat from its pan and reattach it to your seat pan.
Or you could look at the part number on the bottom of the seat, check Corbin's numbers; sell the seat for $200/250+ and buy one that really fits.
Either way, you got a killer deal.m.
