Hey Pat and list. We are just south of Knoxville, TN. A bit of wrenching outside the motel room door revealed the cause of my vibration: the top motor mount wasn t functional. The one bolt that passes through the engine was missing, the remaining two bolts held the triangular plate to the frame but the plate was not connected to the engine. Fred has the parts in stock (NOT surprised!) and they will be on the way to where I expect to be in a couple of days. In the meantime a flange bolt, flange nut and a couple of fender washers from Lowes are in place to provide a functional motor mount. I had to buy a Dunlop K750 front tire from a dealer in Mattoon, IL not my favorite front tire but as the sailors say any port in a storm . I had to toss a D606 front with 3200 miles on it but the rear is still looking good at 3660 mile and counting. (I started the trip with a brand new set of new D606s) And speaking of storms the Knoxville area is getting some heavy rainfall but as we Seattleites know RAIN happens. I ve updated the Smugmug link with my track, current as of tonight: https://johnbiccum.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/Sept-Oct-KLR-trip/n-fTL5dn/i-Jc8HFNC From: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com [mailto:DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com] Sent: Thursday, September 24, 2015 20:57 To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Subject: RE: [DSN_KLR650] Faith, SD Sheesh - I neglect to lurk at one of my favorite old forums for (just) a year or two and see what happens! I've been missing another John B epic trip. I'm with ya now for the rest of the trip John - safe travels and we'll catch up (Testy Chef?) after you get back. knobby tread patterns

Post by Mark W. » Sat Sep 26, 2015 6:44 am

On my Bridgestone, trail wings, I noticed, the V pattern on my rear looks like it would push water etc Away from the center of the tire.  The FR. Is facing the other way, like it would gather water. (BOTH mounted based on Arrow on the side of the tire.)  Looked at John Biccums , tires both Fr&R. would push it out.

I have always assumed that the front was that way as its big job is braking. Don D
