heat gun technique for klr plastics

Post by Robert Waters » Sat Jul 05, 2014 9:22 am

I did the "heat gun" technique and it looked good for a little while, but back like it was.  I just sold the bike to someone that really did not care.   Me thinking the only real solution is either live with it or buy new (different colour) plastic.  The drawback here is that the tank would need to match and might require repainting.

klr tools for sale

Post by gdsnitch » Sat Jul 05, 2014 2:41 pm

Sold my KLR so I am selling off some of the KLR related items. 1. Doohicy tools; A bent 1 1/4 wrench to hold the flywheel and a threaded bolt to pop it off. $25 +$8 for shipping. 2 Tee wrench to remove the front fork internals. Basically a nut welded to square stock that holds the top while you loosen the bottom nut. $25 + $8 for shipping. 3 8 valve shims between 245 and 265. $30 +$5 for shipping. 4. Timber Wolf soft saddle bags that you throw over the seat and strap down. Includes silver rain covers... $50 + $10 shipping. You will need a stand off to on the muffler to keep the bag off of it. Ask any questions that you may have. Gonna miss the KLR but I moved to a patio home with a smaller garage and something had to go.
