no toil air filter

Post by pwhatfourever@sbcglobal.net » Sat Jun 21, 2014 3:31 pm

I have a K&N air filter which came with my 2006 KLR, purchased in January. I am thinking of replacing with a No Toil filter. I read the No Toil filter fits over the "stock plastic frame". I don't think the K&N filter uses the plastic frame, and I don't think I have the original plastic frame. Are those readily available, and at about what cost? Thanks, Paul

You will need the OEM air filter skeleton.Your local Kawi shop will have it in less than 5 days after you request it; unless Fred has it at his shop today, then you will have it two days from the time you call him. revmaaatin.

I believe this air filter frame is about $20 and yes I have one in stock.  I may even have a used one in stock as well. no toil air filter

Thanks, guys. For now, I got the K&N service kit and thoroughly cleaned and reoiled the filter.  Before doing so, I was pretty perturbed to find the bolt holding the filter to the airbox was quite loose, leaving me wondering how much unfiltered air has gone into this 11K engine. :-( I guess thats something I need to check frequently. One the plus side, this bike does not appear to have been ridden much off-road.   Looks like rain here in OKC nearly all week.   Thanks,   Paul   From: "'Fred Hink' moabmc@... no toil air filter

Post by Roger Dill » Mon Jun 23, 2014 11:20 am

Hi Guys, I've got some parts from a crashed KLR 650 I'm trying to get rid of. Attached are some pictures of the skid plate I'm willing to let go of for $45 with standard shipping paid for. It obviously has done it's work in protection and has some dings and scratches. If you don't mind that, it still has many miles of protection left. Mounting hardware included. If you have any other parts you are looking for, let me know and I'll check to see if I still have them. Roger debtpros@... On Sat, Jun 21, 2014 at 3:31 PM, pwhatfourever@...
