Here in California we get paid 5 bucks a day. Not even enough for a Big Mac meal.

NKLR You get reimbursed for jury duty, one usually gets paid time to do it, and it's your civic duty. Yes, you do have civic duty. America doesn't require you to serve like many countries. The least you can do is pay your taxes, show up for juries, and vote. If you don't like how the taxes are spent you can remedy that with the last option as well as contacting the people who get elected despite your efforts. I do.
