A friend had replaced it because of a partial wiring fire so I'm set for several more years of color coded wire. I've mentioned this before but don't know if anyone uses this solution. Tons of wire, with various colors and striping as well as a number of plugs, although haven't checked to see if any male female combinations. I really like being able to wire things with color coded wire rather than having to pull the same three or four colors off the rolls and then sorting through the bunch of all the same color when modifying or troubleshooting. Cost = $Zero Self service auto wreckers are usually quite reasonable on these and many times a regular auto wrecker will make you a deal on an already removed harness which they can't sell. HIH Norm

<><><><><><><> Norm, I've used old wiring harnesses from airhead BMWs for custom wiring jobs. I haven't ever used other vehicle harnesses but it sure is a great idea. When I used to work on military series vehicles all the wiring was black. It had little metal tabs at each terminal to help figure out what black wire was being looked at. Of course if the vehicle had been undercoated or had lots of road grime it was pretty tough to read the number. Sometimes you couldn't even find the metal tab. Best, Jeff Saline
