front sprocket
A couple of years ago I put a 14t chainwheel on for a DS event, and ran around with it for a couple of months. I found that I ran slower out in the country on 2-lanes, but in freeway traffic, I ran faster. Somehow the spinning motor put me in a more competitive frame of mind, more willing to twist the wick to keep pace ahead of traffic. I think the top end might have been a little more on the 14t, too. It's hard to tell what that flailing speedo needle is telling you, sometimes.

starter button/kill switch
My name is Felix and a new member. My son in law David Nichols brought me on board. He's been an active member for quite a while now and is responsible for me owning a 2007 KLR. He has posted on my behalf several times.
Recently, I have begun to experience problems with the starter button/ kill switch.
I decided to see if the switch could be fixed and ran a continuity test per the Clymer(starter button and engine stop switch testing p.204). Everything went well until the very last test step 3b, I had continuity with the b/y and b/w wires with the starter button pushed in and should have had none. Step 4 simply says replace or repair the assembly but not how to repair.
I'm ordering a new switch but would like to ride for the next 10 or longer days( switch back ordered).
Can anyone explain a fix, a way to bypass the kill switch or a prayer for patients while the new switch is restocked?
