Folks, I am about to buy a new 5 horse 4 stroke boat motor. I was all set to buy a Merc of a Nissan.....but found a water cooled 4 stroke Colman at Cabelas (made in China but is. Yamaha copy) for $995 which is roughly $500 less than the other two. Anyone had any experience with these or Chinese made engines? I use the motor just for getting in and out of the Marina on my Catalina 22 sailboat. My old Merc 2 stroke has issues.

boat a motor advice....nklr
I work in a marina and have seen plenty of those Chinese copy's and they are crap. Buy the name brand or you will have nothing but trouble. Just my observation.

I'll try to scan the page in the next couple of days.
