acerbis klr gas tank for sale on ebay

Post by David Nichols » Tue Mar 13, 2012 11:39 am

He changed the listing to a KLR600. I wonder who told him? ________________________________ From: Graeme To: DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com Sent: Tuesday, March 13, 2012 8:15 AM Subject: [DSN_KLR650] Re: Acerbis KLR gas tank for sale on Ebay It's a KLR 600 tank so won't fit a 650 with out some bodging. tank and radiator covers are not interchangable between the two models. Interested to see how much it goes for as I have one on my currently "resting" 600-B1, so it could go to pay for some of the parts I need to get it running again :D Graz

I know Acerbis did make KLR650 tanks for awhile and it looks like the front part would fit over the rubber hockey pucks. The back mount doesn't look the same though, there may be a metal bracket missing like IMS does that picks up the 2 mounting bolts. Does anyone have the Cee Bailey Adjustable Touring Shield on their KLR or any experience with one (23" or 24")? I'm 6' 1" 175 lbs. I'm tired of the buffeting and something has to be done>>>> Any other ideas? robert [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Hi Robert, It probably isn't much help, but I have the Cee Bailey's "Perfect Strom" shield on my DL1000 and it's a well-constructed piece that throws a smooth stream of air. If this is indicative of their product line, consider that a +1 from me. -Jeff Khoury

Cee Bailey's makes good aircraft windshields. I've used a few on helicopters in the past. ________________________________ From: Jeff Khoury To: Robert Rhinehart Cc: DSN KLR650 DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 13, 2012 2:44 PM Subject: Re: [DSN_KLR650] Cee Bailey Adjustable Touring Shield Hi Robert, It probably isn't much help, but I have the Cee Bailey's "Perfect Strom" shield on my DL1000 and it's a well-constructed piece that throws a smooth stream of air. Hi Robert, I have the 23" version, and I am 6' 0", 250lbs. I got this for my commute to work, and it has been great. Buffeting is reduced to a minimum, and I can ride at 60 + with my visir open with no issues. When I go faster, my visir get's a little vibey while open, but nothing major. The coverage is great, and so helps in cold weather. Have ridden down to 25 F this year, while 40 F was my previous comfort zone. The shield is big, and it does move a little in the wind, in spite of what seems like excellent mounting ware. I guess the plastic fairing is only so sturdy. Due to the size I would not recommend any offroading or tackling of severe potholes, as I think that might crack it. A side effect at high speed was inproved stability. The bike felt unsettled at 70 + mph, now not so much. I would definately buy it again. Thinking of the shorter sport shield for when temps get to 90 F ++. Happy shopping. Gisle
