clock ideas?
Hi,
I could use a clock on my bike. Has anybody mounted a clock or watch on the KLR that worked out? I tried a cheap battery auto clock and it quit working pretty quick. It was kind of ugly anyway.
Thanks,
Mike

I figure if it gets ripped off I'm out almost nothing and changing a battery is the most I've had to do to it since installation. Kind of matches my KLRs personal so to speak. : ) Best, Jeff Saline ABC # 4412 South Dakota Airmarshal Airheads Beemer Club www.airheads.org The Beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota 75 R90/6, 03 KLR650 . . ____________________________________________________________ 60-Year-Old Mom Looks 27 Mom Reveals Free Wrinkle Trick That Has Angered Doctors! http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL3141/4f381c18a8f7910ab31cst01vuc> Hi, > I could use a clock on my bike. Clock kinda of ugly on a KLR. That is an oxymoron. There is no clock that will make a KLR look good. We bought $5 clocks at walmart that have a sticky velco back. We put them in the top of our tank bags. So far they've made it Oaxaca and will be in El Salvador by this time next week. We've used the watches before too but found trying to read the watch while riding was to hard. The digital is easy to read.

I haven't read the other reply's but this is what I have been using for quite a while. Go to WalMart. Find the cheapy wrist watches, I think they are about 10 bucks. I get the Velcro bands. I have on of those foam things that go around the little cross bar. I wrap the band around the foam. I have one on the KLR and the xt. They are waterproof and work great. Cheap and easy. Oh get the one with the big numbers.

I got a velcro backed clock (about $12) from The Source, (or Radio
Shack), and it lasted 4 years, rain or shine, until I lost the back off
it, and the battery, just out of Madawaska, Maine, finishing the 4
Corners run. I got another in Madawaska,, but I never did declare it
coming back across the border, so I suppose it turned me into a
smuggler, as well as providing me with the time.

I put a bar pad on the KLR, and strap a cheap timex large-numeral indiglo watch to it.
Works great. Glue the band together if you're worried about someone stealing it.

When one is traveling through Mexico, one could pickup a Rolex.

Yup Since I have a Crash Test Dummy crossbar pad I strap a cheapy light up in the dark watch to the handle bars and leave it there.

Cheap Stop watch velcro mounted to the left dash. Big enough to read the clock numbers and I can use the stop watch when desired. I time my commute regularly to see how long it really takes. Doing it this way proved that the main route got 7 minutes slower when the new mall opened.
