I need to replace some of the plastics on my KLR 650. Are different year plastics interchangeable?

New member to the group but not to the KLR. I bought a new 09 KLR in May of 2010 and have really enjoyed riding and even working on it. I have been 7000 miles, I'm on my second set of tires, have done the doo and added the Thermo Bob. I have been riding motorcycles for the past 38 years, raced enduros for 6 years till I blew out both knees in a accident. After 9 years with no bike I decided that it was time to get back into it again. I like the idea of having a motorcycle that isn't stuck doing one thing. With the KLR I can run highway if I need to, enjoy the backroads when I want to, and play in the dirt when I feel like it. I have friends with HD's and they ride for 2 hours and spend the next 4 hours polishing the chrome. In the 16 months that I have had my bike I have washed it 3 times (and one of those times was a ride in a rain storm). Everyone stay safe!
