100,000 miles plus. I got close to 80,000 miles on a 1990 before rebuild. I was lucky I guess. Conall _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp

Conall. I'd be interested in what the rebuild actually entailed, whether you did it yourself or not and what it cost. I'd like to know what I have to look forward to as right now I feel the KLR650 will be the last bike I ever own. Diablo Kawasaki/BMW in Walnut Creek, CA. updated the counter balancer mechanism but I forget the cost and don't have access to my records right now. The balancer chain was also replaced. Elden Carl has the motor now and says I am one lucky son of a gun, something about the cam chain. Conall A'dam Holland

Hey Conall, What happened here? More details please. I thought Elden rebuilt the motor. Bogdan

The motor was running fine as far as I was concerned when I traded the bike to Elden. Elden said the cam chain was long overdue to be replaced however. If he is done rebuilding my old motor that would be one experienced motor. I better call him. First off, I have to admit that I just bought this and it had most of these on it when I bought it, but my 2000 just turned 126,000 and it still runs like a champ:
