I recently bought a '01 Concours, which I really like. The previous owner used Armorall, or something similar on the seat, a really nice Corbin. This has made it so slippery that nearly any amount of brake or throttle causes me to slide forward or back. It is bad enough while wearing jeans, and way worse wearing textile motorcycle pants. If the bike is on the side stand any item placed on the seat slides off immediately. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this? Thanks, Gerry

Alternatively: Wash the seat with a warm, soapy mixture of water & dish detergent (Dawn?). That'll take the Armorall off and shouldn't hurt the seat. You'll have to exteriment with what to retreat the seat with to protect it without making it slippery again. -eddie

Depends on the Corbin you have. Some are all Leather, some all Vinyl and some, most actually, are a combination with the seat being leather and the sides being vinyl. If you read their web site the reason will become apparent. I would recommend either saddle soap or boot cleaner on the leather and anything you want on the vinyl. You want the silicone off the leather but you don't want to strip it dry. The leather must still put up with being outdoors with the UV and risk of wet weather. Corbin makes a cleaner that seems pretty close to Justin Boots boot cleaner. Both served my corbin well for years Chris
