My question is the new model the best one to get or stick with the tried and true 07 and previous. The upgrades on the 08 look nice but what about all that plastic? The groups opinions would be appreciated. Thanks > > > > > > Brad > > > > I've got a '98. The '08 differs mainly in having better brakes (good) and more bodywork (bad, for my purposes, at least). With a DR650SE, you get less bodywork and better brakes. Just something to consider. > > The DR and the KLR both need a better seat; the Corbin for the DR is one of the best I have ever had. The DR needs a bigger tank. The KLR needs radiator protection, which costs about the same. I'm not trying to steer you away from a KLR. I really like mine. But I bought a DR, too, and I like it better. >

I had a bad fall at work in March and managed to come out with a titanium plate and a stainless steel rod in my left arm, plus some nerve damage. My wrist and hand function is at 40%, on a good day, and workers comp says that that's okay.......we're done with you, no more physical therapy. about another $2,000. BUT, they don't want to pay the going rate for a permanent and stationary disability of $25,000. All I want is the rest of the physical therapy............I want to be able to ride my motorcycles, play my drums and perform the physical tasks for my daytime job. Mike will be throwing a TechDay at his shop in August. As soon as we set I date, I will post it here. Go to the KLR650.net site and look in Mike's section, there is a graphic pic of my arm, 4 weeks post surgery. Seeya in August in San Diego. For sure, there will be a JulianTechDay at my shop in October. It'll be announced on the major sites and the leftcoastklrs site. Buddy

Buddy, I am absolutely certain the coming Obama Health Care will more that compensate for the poor service you are now receiving. I would just keep repeating what you have been doing until the new Health Care is fully engaged. or hell freezes over. So, fair readers, what can we ascertain from Buddy's post? We know from his testimony--that health care is not about money. revmaaatin. cough. For sure--keep repeating the exercises.

Being the all around....mosty round........ KLR-ista that I am, I don't like depending on someone else to pay for what ails me.............and I sure as Hell don't want to pay for those who won't get off of their lazy asses to pay their own way. Dammit, when is the American public gonna realize that we all ready have way too much government?? teach a man a skill and he can pay his own way............give a man welfare and he votes for Obama. TOO DAMN MUCH GUMMINT!!!!! (I certainly hope Jesus has a sense of humor for that paraphrasing). Do I sue my former employer for the trip and fall hazard?? Do I sue my own employer for having a bullshit comp company???? Not likely on either hand. I really love my current job and my former job in the fire service. On the plus side tho....since I was right next to the ambulance when the misplaced concrete wheel stopper jumped out and got me, it only took 3 minutes to get that first 5mg of morphine on board. Another 25mg en route. The ER was a very different experience.............WOW.............they added another 15mg during the hour and a half that I was there. Floated right over to the orthopods office. The next morning wasn't so much fun. AndI lost a good Saint Patty's day worth of beer drinkn' because of the surgery. I do thank you for your kind consideration of my gravitionally challenged predicament. I just wanna ride my motorcycle........in spite of my orthopods wishes. And the exercises are great....it's the ultrasound/IR treatments and the TENS stimulation that really loosen up the injury site for a more effective exercise regimen. That's all I want.........that and a million bucks. Buddy
