No emissions equitment. It is boiling even whwn the cap is open. The heat guage says normal. Out side air temp was in the 90s that day. I don't know if it's dual or single vent. It's stock 88 klr.The hissing starts as soon as the cap is replaced.I blew out the tank vent line seems o k. Do you think that dam ethanol gas has any thing to do with this? Good call. There was a 1000 V-Strom that made us earn our keep for most of the 09 Pinebarrens300, until a crash caused his bike not to start again. he even kept up with us in the looptidoos which was freaky for the KLRs, never mind a Vstrom1000
He had done the springs in it and put on some more off road handlebars. We were calling it the sand missle because everytime we, a bunch of KLR riders, got in a more open space he went past us like a missle.
The V has a great support group and there are loads of them out there so the price and parts availability should be solid.
If the big V is tall enough for your son then that would be a good option. He gets to do some of the dirt roads with you and can do his highway rides all day long!

You may still be getting "winter blend" gasoline in your area.
