vendor - krieger cam chain tensioners reduced price for the klr grou

Post by MarkK » Fri Apr 02, 2010 9:22 pm

I've been a member of this group for a while. I used information from here when I was looking for dual sport sites after buying my KLX650C. I've had that KLX for about 12 years. I had problems with it an with my Zephyr 550 that put me into a side line that may be of interest here. I had my cam chains wiped out on the KLX by two junk "automatic" cam chain tensioners from Kaw. I made a manual unit. When I got the Zephyr it had the all too familiar top end noise of... a junk tensioner. The "new improved tensioner" was the same design as my KLX had fail - twice! This time I made 4 extra and sold them. Since then I have become established in the KLX650 group as the tensioner guy for two reasons. One - it works and two it's only $25 for the kit including a gasket. The kit is shown both on the web site www.kriegercamchaintensioners.com and with my pictures at www.bikepics.com/members/klx678 To date I've sold tensioners in 22 states, in 12 countries, on 4 continents - and have yet to have the first request for a return/refund. I know about the dohickey for the balancer chain, but I don't know if the KLR6500s suffer the same crap design cam chain tensioner design the 650 and Zephyr did, but if so I have a proposal. What I'd like to do is offer the KLX300 group riders the tensioners at the same price I sell them to the KLX650 group, $25. If it's of any value, great. If not, such is life. If you want to check me out, go to the KLX650 group and register. Shoot, I'll probably be the moderator that approves you. Go ask about the quality, especially for the price. Thanks for your time, I apologize if this approach is not appreciated, but I had no idea how to approach the group, so I did what I'd have allowed on the KLX650 group. If the part is relatively exclusive to fill a need we'll let a post be made. If it's just general parts that can be had anywhere at the similar price, no way. The tensioner is one example, but we've had group buys of Acerbis tanks and presently there's a member doing silicone radiator hoses in colors. We're helping each other. I figure if I can help here, cool. Otherwise sorry to bother ya. mark - klx678 moderator from the KLX650 group.
