No. There is plenty of chain adjustment travel to allow for a 16T CS sprocket when used with the stock 43T rear sprocket. RM

Also try: http://www.sprocketspecialists.com I have one on my bike now. It is of unknown origin (it does NOT look like the PBI that most of us use). RM

My Sprocket Specialists front 16T had a sticker on it indicating it was "Made in Taiwan". When I ordered it I thought it was going to be "Made in USA". It seems to working fine. Brad

I was wondering does the 16 tooth front sprocket give you better gas mileage? I drive 54 miles to work one way and very little off road. Would this be a good choice for me?

I run the 16 tooth on my '01 KLR and it really does better on the highway, with lower RPMs in each gear. The only time I would throw the 15 back on would be for tight trails, long climbs, etc. As far as gas mileage improvement; I'm in Kansas with not many steep hills where the engine would lug, so I'm sure I received a very slight increase in gas mileage...YMMV. Hey KLRistas! Who out there there has swapped out the front sprocket for a 16 tooth? Can you please tell me if you replaced the back sprocket and the chain at the same time? What has your experience been after the swap, positive or negative?
